Healthy Earth Healthy US
'Healthy Earth, Healthy US' will be our slogan for the weeks leading up to Easter. Our Values Leaders will be working hard to encourage children and families to give something up which helps the planet. This week, we will be exploring ways in which we can eradicate single-use plastics from school. So many children bring food and snacks to school wrapped in single-use plastics. Much of this food isn’t healthy for our bodies either. We will also be encouraging healthy eating and hope that children will consider giving something up for Lent and to choose healthier options in their diet. Mrs Cookson and the eco-council led an assembly where we learned more about healthy food for life and how to package food so that it is good for us and good for the planet.
We have also learned about the “Big Plastic Count” which takes place from 11-17th March. You can sign up as an individual or as a household here As a school, we ask that children do not bring single-use plastic into school and we hope that families will join us in our efforts to help look after the environment, thank you!
