Art and Design
At St Stephen's, the Art and Design curriculum is designed to engage, inspire, and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent, and create unique works. As students progress, they develop critical thinking and a deeper understanding of Art and Design. The curriculum introduces diverse and inspirational artists, reflecting the school's ASPIRE values, and encourages using art as a form of spiritual expression. Implementation includes a bespoke scheme of work aligned with school values, individual sketchbooks for students to develop their ideas and skills, and knowledge organisers to reinforce key vocabulary and concepts. This approach ensures a progressive build-up of knowledge and skills throughout the curriculum.
